In the ST Global Markets Review, we’ve analyzed a suspicious offshore broker that operates from the Bahamas and Mauritius. The broker’s company is registered in both domains.
However, dealing with offshore entities is always risky. Read the review to see what ST Global Markets offers and what you should watch out for.
ST Global Markets Ltd is registered with the Securities Commission of the Bahamas (SCB) and the Financial Securities Commission (FSC) of Mauritius. The previous name of this entity was “The Street Trader”.
Although the entity is in the financial authorities’ databases, that doesn’t mean the ST Global Markets regulation is reliable. For example, the SCB requires brokers to have a minimum operating capital of 300,000 $ and nothing else. No segregation of funds or a compensation scheme for clients.
That’s why it’s better to find a provider that’s regulated by a Tier 1 onshore authority such as the UK’s FCA, Germany’s BaFin, Australian ASIC, etc.
Brokers operating under the jurisdiction of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) are pretty reliable as they offer a compensation scheme of up to 20,000 EUR, segregated funds, negative balance protection and leverage restriction (1:30), among other things.
ST Global Markets is an offshore broker that provides FX and CFD trading. Despite having a lousy trading license, the broker provided services to traders from the US, UK, Bahamas, Columbia, and South Africa.
ST Global Markets’ website hasn’t been visited that frequently since 2022. Based on similarweb.com, the website counts below 5k visits. However, the broker has some clients. We discovered that they reside in the following countries:
Offshore brokers such as this one use various methods to find clients. For example, they buy Google ads, create Facebook, Instagram or YouTube content, post LinkedIn ads, etc.
Or, they hire agents to run online marketing campaigns for them. If that’s not enough, brokers invite potential clients to private WhatsApp or Telegram chats. Dating apps such as Tinder and Bumble are another possibility.
In the end, the broker might just call the client directly on the phone to discuss an offer, or send multiple emails.
ST Global Markets offers four different trading platforms. These are MetaTrader 5, DAS, Sterling Trader PRO and Takion.
Each of them has a mobile version available. For trading online, the platforms have WebTrader versions.
Yes. ST Global Markets made mobile versions of the platforms available. However, there’s only an Android version of MT5, no iOS. DAS comes with both.
MT5 is probably the best trading platform in the world. It offers algorithmic trading, live market reports, instant execution, a customizable interface, multiple timeframes, etc.
Its interface is convenient and easy to use. The only issue here, however, is ST Global Markets’ regulation, i.e. It’s not efficient enough.
DAS stands for Direct Access Software. This platform is designed for advanced traders. Clients can use it to send live orders and set up alerts. DAS is available for both Android and iOS and it also has a web version.
Sterling Trader PRO, like DAS, is an advanced platform suitable for trading equities, options, and futures. It enables basket trading, a customizable ticket watchlist, imbalance alerts, etc.
The speed of this platform is over 20 orders per second. It’s great for analyzing high-performance real-time live market data.
The Takion trading platform is based on technologically-advanced
code and algorithmic smart routing.
It features a market sorter with built-in fully customizable stock filters, which is great for finding trading opportunities in real time. The risk management system is customizable. Like Sterling Trader PRO, Takion also offers basket trading.
When it comes to trading assets, here’s a brief overview of what ST Global Markets offers:
Spreads and commissions vary for each account type. Out of the three types, only the first one’s spread starts from 1.5 pips while for the other two, it starts from zero.
As for the commissions, the first account type has none. Commissions for the Zero and VIP accounts are 8 $ and 10 $, respectively.
ST Global Markets offers three different trading accounts:
The leverage cap is the same for all accounts – 1:500. Bear in mind that the maximum leverage in the ESMA-regulated zone is 1:30 for retail clients. The same cap exists in the UK and Australia. In the US and Canada, it’s 1:50. Extremely high leverage means risky trading.
We didn’t find a demo account option on ST Global Markets’ website. But, on one of the platform pages, the broker put a “request demo” option.
Clients should be able to open a demo account without requesting permission. That wasn’t a cool move from ST Global Markets.
Here are the available funding methods at ST Global Markets:
Card deposits require a minimum of 50 $ while bank deposits require 1,000 $. The former includes a 3.5% fee whereas the latter requires simply 50 $. That’s pretty much it for the ST Global Markets withdrawal policy.
Having withdrawal issues with ST Global Markets? That’s a bad sign. If the broker violated any terms and conditions, you have to write a complaint. We can help you by reporting the broker to the authorities.
As for your money, we can help you get it back. Global Fraud Protection’s experts specialize in bank chargebacks and recalls.
If this broker steals your money, start the chargeback process. Use Online Chat to book your free consultation. It’s the easiest and fastest way to find out what you should do.
We would not recommend it. The broker is not sufficiently regulated. If you lose your money, call us straight away.
You seemingly have to request a demo account, which is suspicious.
Yes. DAS has both Android and iOS versions while MT5 is available only for Android.
No. ST Global Markets doesn’t offer welcome or deposit bonuses.
